Keyword Density & Proximity

One of the factors used by search engines is keyword density and proximity. Keyword density refers to what percentage your keyword(s) are part of the whole. The higher the percentage the better. However go two dense and you page will not read correctly and look like spam. Proximity refers to how close the keyword is to the front of the article. Again the higher the proximity the better. So you are looking for a combination of high density and proximity and have a page that still reads correctly. Not sure how high you want to go, then go analyze the top ten results for your keyword(s).
